Baby Gwyneth

One of our latest sessions was of my little newborn cousin, Gwyneth! In this shoot she was only a few weeks old - the perfect age for a cute newborn session. My mom and I had just discovered this nearby location and it seemed like a great place to shoot photos. There were bugs, it was humid outside, and Gwyneth, being a newborn, was grumpy and in need of a nap. This location was beautiful so we endured the heat and baby cries, and it was well worth it! We came back with some great shots.

About Us

The story of how Schockpics Studio began is.. well... let's just start from the very beginning.

My interest in photography started with a 35mm film camera during the 80's. I was always the one my friends came to for "just for fun" photography sessions. Up until one day in 2005 it was strictly that. To fulfill my dream of being a photographer, I started Schockpics Studio, a part-time, at-home photography business. Since that day my daughter Emma, then just 8 years old, has always been by my side learning and acting as a "mini-assistant" at photo sessions. She would help babies laugh, pose families for portraits, carry lighting equipment, and more. This year our business has grown into something more. Emma's interest in photography led her to be on the high school yearbook staff as a photographer. Now combining our passions, our mother-daughter photography duo, Schockpic Chicks, was born.
